Yeah yeah that's what alot of guys who don't drive much have to say.
I turn it off in the spring, on in the winter, I have never had any #4 
cylinder troubles due to water flow.
99% of mu head gasket blows have been between # 2 and 3 and most were 
with the "upgraded" copper head gasket. I am strickly a composite gasket 
guy along with a "turn on the heat/turn off the heat as needed"
Just think, global warming and all that, so should we NOT fire up our 
home furnaces? You know what they say...
