I can commiserate with everyone regarding the good old
days and good old quality of materials and services.
Nowadays there is almost nothing I'd rather do than
work on my Sprite. But then I start wrenching with my
17 yr old son and things look brighter. A Sunday
afternoon putting headers on his 10 yr old Subaru
together while planning our purchase of tuning
software puts a whole new spin on things. As we live
in semi-rural Western Colorado we don't get much
in-person time with other car enthusiasts, but we can
watch a myriad of specialized car shows recorded on
our DVR. Tonight we're watching a classic Triumph race
from the UK. We see and learn from "tuner" shows quite
often. He pays close attention while I sit next to him
with "Tuning the A Series Engine" in my lap. In my
view it ain't all bad. I'm working with the hand I've
been dealt and driving with the top off every chance I
get!
