Thread-topic: Bottom end engine rebuild
Hello,

Well, I have all the parts back and am ready to assemble the bottom end,
but I have some questions! (go figure)

- I need to check the clearance for the crank to bearings, rings gaps,
crank to thrust washers, con rod to crank, and pistons to cylinder (can
you confirm? Did I miss or add anything)

What do I do if it's out of tolerance? That is not written anywhere in
the Haynes manual! I imagine for the piston to cylinder walls, I return
it to the machine shop, but for the others...

To check the crank to other things clearances, I use a plastigage, but
to do that, I need to torque the whole thing to spec... Is it then ok to
untorque, remove the gage, check it and retorque with the same bolts?

Any other gotchas that I might have missed?

Regards, cyrille
