Really? I know of a couple of good engine rebuilders around LA for sure...
but I know at least one engine builder who has a stellar reputation in
Portland - his name is Jay Ivey. I believe he is specializing in Formula
Ford engines nowadays, but he did rebuild my Lotus Twin Cam a couple of
years back - 152 hp at 7,200 rpm for a 1554 cc street engine, which has
already lasted a lot longer than 1500 miles and easily revs past 8,000
without self destruct, is not too shabby.

By the way... I sold my vintage racer Bugeye. I gave all the parts to the
new owner, except for a very newly acquired NOS Weber 42 DCOE. No, that's
not a mistake - 42 DCOE. I am only interested in getting back what I paid
for it - $250 plus shipping. If anyone is interested at that price, email me
at hobbycars@cox.net
