Welcome, Dave.... :)

I am using my Frogeye the same way you intend to. Having lost my garage some
time ago, my mech does 90%+ of the mech
work these days, 'cept for tune-ups and easy stuff.

I live "down here" in Stamford, CT and while the car spends most of the winter
under the cover, it is taken out and driven on warmer, nicer winter days.
You've gotta keep the fluids circulated in these cars or the hydraulics take a
beating.

So, your idea is doable.

Spend the bucks up front to get a car in good condition to begin with is my
advice. You'll save big $$ in the long run doing it this way. Others have
already accurately advised you what you can expect to pay.

You'll find more than a few Frogs that have
been upgraded to the later 1275 engines and better ribcase gearboxi. Just makes
the car better, IMHO. Some have even been
upgraded with Datsun all synchro 5 speeds....this is a very nice option as well.
