There exists a book by Lindsay Porter, the Haynes Restoration Manual for MG 
Midget and Austin-Healey Sprite (NOT to be confused with the normal Haynes 
manual, this one features some of the rustiest bits you might ever see). 
Towards the back of that book there is a section on de-toxing the engines, 
mostly based on the writings of John Twist of University Motors in Michigan.
