HELP!!!

Well, after the engine rebuild, the engine started but is not working
right.

It only works with 40 to 80 degree advance!

Here is all I tried and checked so far:

- cam timing appear to be ok
Checked at TDC, valve 1 and 2 fully closed, valves 7 and 8 at
exactly the same position (overlap), uneven valves 7 and 8 becomes
visible at +/- 4 degree, and 1 tooth mis-alignement is 12 degree....
Compression is 150 psi on all 4

- poulie mark indicate real TDC
Checked by looking at pistons moving up and down as poulie mark
approach TDC

- no vacuum leaks
Checked by spraying carb cleaner around intake manifold and carb

- distributor mechanical advance ok
Checked by watching advance change with vacuum disconnected as
RPM changed

- vacuum retard ok
Checked by sucking on the hose :)

- timing light ok (yes, I even checked that using a second car)

- the timing light is then used to check the timing with engine set at
fixed 1500 rpm

- at rest, TDC, the rotor is pointing roughly at #1 spark

After I start and warm up the car up, I can adjust the distributor
between 35 and 80 degree advance (best running at around 60), if I pass
these 2 marks, the engine stops.

The car rapidly heats up, which is consistent with too much advance

It is running a little bit rich at the moment, but I am not worried
about that too much for now...

The car setup is: 1500cc, 9:1 compression, Street B cam, weber DGV
carburetor, pace setter exhaust manifold, 14mil valve clearance (warm)
as per cam spec.

HELP ME!!!!! I am at lost, what else could be wrong?

Thanks, cyrille
