Well my Dad had a TR3 back in the early 60s.
He took my Mom, myself, and my 2 brothers to Miami from Jersey in it.
Then the older kid across the street had a 63 Sprite with a 283 Chevy V8
in it. He took me for a ride and we did wheelies down the highway.
That's when I knew I had to get me one of these!
Later my Dad bought a 67 Sprite after his TR3 did what most Triumphs do.
I used to sneak it out when the old folks went out. Later when learning
how to drive, my Dad asked me how I knew how to work a clutch.
I gave him some BS about a motorcycle a buddy had. Little did he know I
put on a few hundred miles over a year and a half on HIS Sprite.
Finally I bought THAT Sprite from him for $400. $50 now, $50 when you
got it, and I think I still owe him $50.
Then I bought a brand new 1973 Triumph Spitfire and it did what Triumphs
do best so I bought another used Sprite. That was 53 or is it 54 Sprites
ago?
