On my tuned 1275, I run a constant 170* (which is where I have the temp 
dial set at) It holds about 1 gallon of coolant, less then the stock 
rad. It is aluminum and has an electric fan.
On my Speedwell nose, the air hole is sort of small, even with a recored 
rad with extra rows, I still ran at 190 on a good day, 212 on hot days.
Now it's 170 all the time.
