I got 6 in a '76 MGB, sort of. I got stopped because we were "harassing"
some girls in another car that we were driving beside. They came back when
they saw we got stopped and the police were lenient. They said the 'B only
had seats for 4 and made 2 get out and walk. We were 2 blocks from home.

I had the top and hardware off my '74 one summer. Used to cram a 10 year
old in the back without too much whining. The dog always got the front!

And I know from a LOT of experience that you can fit three good sized
nineteen year old males in an MGB....wasn't pretty, though.
