Hylomar never hardens and does not permanently adhere paper gaskets. Works
on hoses too. I reuse paper rocker cover gaskets on a radial engine,
sealing them with a thin coat of Hylomar -- I never tear a gasket and they
never leak. It's also used for sealing between case halves on opposed
airplane engines, where there is no gasket. Permatex distributes it and
most decent auto parts stores have it. I remember seeing it recommended in
some old LBC manuals (Triumph ? MGTC ?), but I don't remember which ones at
the moment.
