Adjustment Shims

I've discovered I need adjustment shims/spacers in the trunnion. I'm sure I 
read about them but forgot until now as I'm putting everything together. I 
don't see these listed in the usual suspects catalogs. Can these be made from 
shim stock or can something else be used/adapted? Anybody have any lying 
around? :)
 
I have another question on the ground strap. I bought a new one since mine is 
very frayed. Mine is attached to a slave cylinder bolt and is very short. The 
new one is longer so it seems it should be attached elsewhere. Where is it 
supposed to attach to?
