While I appreciate your desire to have the venue nearby (and there has
been MUCH discussion on this!), the feeling is that it should be at
least somewhat centrally located. There is currently a committee hard
at work investigating possible venues. They are considering about 10
to 12 locations based upon a fairly stringent set of criteria and
should have a venue selected in a little over a month. The feeling was
that this is a very special, once in a lifetime event ( I sure don't
plan to be around for the 100th ;-) so that distance wouldn't be
quite so much of a deterrence as if it were an annual event.
That said, in this day and age of rapid electronic communication,
there is much that can be done online to prepare for the event. Thank
you for offering your services!! What aspect of the event would you
feel most comfortable working on?
