A few of these electric Spridgets have been listed on ebay in the last year.
One was from right here in CT. I used to see it at car shows as a matter of
fact. While it drew alot of attention, I never found quite as intriguing as,
say the Jaguar XJ13 or even a Subaru 360, but it was interesting as a science
experiment of sorts, for retirees.
The one in CT had a trunk full of batteries, but what was lost in cargo area
was made up under the bonnet, if we're still being British here, by the smaller
power unit.
I don't think either car sold, at least not on ebay. But OTOH, the asking
prices or reserves were very subjective. I remember one of them having a $5,000
opening bid.
Everyone has their own idea of what makes an exciting Spridget, but obviously
there aren't many who define that as increasing the weight, (especially behind
the rear axle), reducing the hp, while minimizing your options for replenishing
your energy source.
If one is really serious about this idea, it should be done on a Mini Van or
Minor Van. That way you could take advantage of the entire cargo area to fill
with batteries and not only make something that will last for the long haul,
but would _really_ be dangerous going into a curve.
