Hi,
I think the oil lines only go one way.  If you have a cooler, the hoses are
different lengths.
That thing on the timing cover is a breather can, I think.  It should plumb
to vacuum, if you want to use it.   The heater should go to the valve and
through a metal tube to the front, near the water pump.  This metal tube is
built into some manifolds, if you want to heat your manifold, which you
probably shouldn't.  You can just run a longer piece of 1/2" hose if you
don't have the metal tube.
If you are not using an oil cooler but have the fittings on the block for
it, I will gladly trade you the metal tube and fittings that go from the
rear of the block to the oil filter bracket assembly.  I need the fittings
that go from the rear of the block to the oil cooler hose and from the oil
cooler hose back to the oil filter bracket.
