I note that there are 2 spridget parts catalogues there, too.  One page in
each shows the locations of the serial numbers on gearboxes, rear axle
housings, engine, chassis . . .

Quite frequently someone asks where to find some obscure part. I found a 
Brit parts catalog that probably has what you need. The catalog is online 
in pdf format. It's 15.3 megs so you folks on dial ups will need to find a 
friend to snag a copy for you. The parts pictures are in color too! It's 
like a Christmas catalog for a Brit car enthusiast. It's got nuts, bolts, 
washers, grommets, tools, electrical, etc, etc. Download the tool catalog
