Be careful, you don't want to do any damage.  If it won't turn over with the
spark plugs out then you got a problem.  Normally, on a motor that ran for
some time and then sat up, I would say to put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the
cylinders through the spark plug holes.  But, since your motor hasn't been
broken in yet, I wouldn't suggest that.  If it were me, I would, d'oh, bite
the bullet and pull the motor apart.
Anything that could make it too hard to turn after it was easy to turn would
spell doom for a motor that isn't broken in yet.  Chances are the bearings
are still good.  You probably have some seizure in the rings.  You might
pull the head off and see what the cylinders look like.  If there is
corrosion or discoloration, that might be your problem.
Was the Datsun tranny easy to turn?  Maybe the tranny is binding?
