Yesterday, while out running a few errands FROG AYE coughed once, clunked,
then begain making a strange noise. Kinda like a fan blade hitting
something. Since the fan is electric and all encased and wasn't even
turning at the time, I speculate it must be something else. With the bonnet
up I can't get any real sense of where it is comming from. It is definitely
at engine speed. Oil pressure is fine, temperature is fine. No precious
bodily fluids on the floor. I limped home slowly and FROG AYE ran smoothly
enough, but I'm concerned enough not to drive with it like this. Any
suggestions as to where I should start looking? Water pump? The times
before that I have had to replace those it was obvious, either because of
leaks or screetching bearings.
