I'm trying to remove the bonnet on the bug-eye and the Haynes manual is
vague and incomplete on this subject. I see three possible ways to
disconnect the telescopic supports:

1) Remove the two Phillips screws at the base of each support. But there is
something on the side that seems to be attached and I don't see how to
remove it.

2) Remove the bolt at the top of the support where it attaches to the upper
hinge, although there doesn't seem to be much room to work.

3) Remove the two bolts where the upper hinge mounts to the bonnet.

Which is the easiest method?

This appears to be a three-man operation: two to hold the bonnet and the
third man to remove the eight bolts on the bonnet hinges. Is there any way
to do it with just two people?

Thanks. I'll get this thing done someday.
