Just remember that the effect of any particular camshaft grind for a 1275 will
have more of a pronounced effect on the smaller displacement 948.

Fr'instance, an SPVP3 or Kent "286" on a
"fast" 1275 for the road might be a tad
"over the top" for a road-going 948...no
bottom end or lower mid-range to speak
of.

IOW, it might be "doable" but not "suitable"
depending upon type of driving, compression ratio, valve sizes, other mods,
etc., cam "drive" notwithstanding.

And while easier to change in the 948, you might avoid such a "situation" by
checking with a cam grind "pro" such as available
at APT? Just a well-intended suggestion, Kev. :) And it's free!

I dunno but 948's have only one camshaft "bearing" while 1275's have three? I
would think a call to 1-800-aptfast
would resolve the question post-haste though I'm sure Paul, Pete or Ed would
know.

But somehow, I have a feeling Frank Clarici will clarify the issue in his next
post!! :)

Hey All,

Will a stock camshaft from a 1275 fit (and work) in a 948?

I have a friend who needs a cam in a 948 and I have a few 1275 stock
cams....

Thanks,

Kevin V.
