Billy,
That is the WHOLE POINT to double-declutching. It is used to match rpm of 
the two shafts so that you do not need synchros to shift smoothly. With 
synchros, it is largely ornamental and only done by poseurs or people on 
this list ;-) Agressive race-style double-declutching will wear out your 
gearbox faster than normal driving. I prefer replacing brakes.

My dad always claimed to be able to shift an old non-synchro jeep gearbox 
from first to high and back without a noise from the gearbox.
