David,
I'll take you up on that. I grew up in Commack, my 1st car was an MGB. I also
owned a Spitfire and my father had a Lotus while we lived there (I was born
there in 1965, moved away for good in 1990). I used to slum around at the Penny
Lane LBC shop in Huntington to learn. In my younger and arguably stupider days
I drove my MGB into the city to Yankee games from 1984 to 1987 before they drew
55,000 each night. I've broken down on FDR drive, Co-op City in the Bronx and
in the worst one ever, the GW bridge. My wife got her Masters degree at NYU,
and my favorite car to drive in the city was a 1972 Buick LeSabre that I bought
for $50. It was an anti-cabbie weapon. In the Midwest where I am now, I drive
an old Alfa daily, my Bugeye when it's running right, and have a co-worker who
lives an MGA daily. We also have Flounder, Peter C., and Lieb running around
locally in their LBCs. I travel a lot, and the Midwest in summer seems to have
the most cool old cars out
and about on a regular basis these days.

Cheers,
Ron
