I agree. At least Bill L. is in a location that enables him to get good
German food at Der Rheinlander in Portland. I have known Horst Mager
since I was a very small child, and his recipes are authentic and very
good. I have most of them in my own cook book. The Italian restaurants
in Portland go up and down, mostly down. Lido's used to be good, but
Mama Lido has to have died at least 20 years ago, and all her recipes
were in her head. I doubt the restaurant is even there anymore.

Here in NV, we do have good Mexican food, if you like Sonoran. If
Chihauhan is your idea of Mexican, you need to go to NM. They are as
different as northern and southern Italian.

At least we can finally get Thomas' English Muffins. for the longest
time, they were not available out west. Now if I could only get someone
to ship me a case of Gibble's Potato Chips, I would be in Heaven.
