I cannot get my distributor (in my new engine) to stay cinched down. I got a
new clamp from Moss, but that doesn't help. I can get timing set rough, then
after 5 seconds of run time it slips and rotates out of time. Or, when I'm
adjusting, then tightening the clamp, the distributor squirts out of the clamp
- the clamp kind of falls off the shoulder of the distributor.

I'm using a 123Ignition distributor. The section of the distributor that must
be clamped is chromed steel and very hard and slick. I'm about ready to try
another dizzy - but will I have the same problem? If I try another dizzy I need
something that doesn't require vacuum advance. I got the 123 for the electronic
ignition...

Any ideas?

Joe
