It doesn't have to but it's a whole lot easier to roll the car on it's 
side to fix 1/2 the floor and one sill, then flip it the other way
and do the other side. This way you can use the original side for 
measurements.

Drain everything if you are rolling the car on it's side.

Cut something off a junk yard car that doesn't have rust, alter it to fit.
I wish I did this on my Dad's BMW last Spring, I didn't think of it but 
someone told me they did the same thing.
