Need some quick thoughts on a starting issue that keeps coming up with my 2000
Acura TL that has just hit the 250K mile mark. As it get colder this is
happening with repeated frequency. This of course is an intermittent problem
and does not happen every time. So to prevent the better half from becoming
stranded. Looking for ideas on next step.

Turn Key to start - All lights come on starter does not engage, turn off try
again and same thing starter does not engage, all lights on.

Turn on headlights - Additional current load on battery and car immediately
starts. Well at least so far that seems to be a solution to getting the car to
to turn over.

I have cleaned and taken apart all battery connections and did find some
corrosion issues. Battery is just about a year old and was tested fine.

Things to check next I'm guessing are:

Starter connection, get under car and clean terminals on starter.

Check main chassis ground from battery and make sure it is clean and corrosion
free.

OK Guys that's all I've figured out, what next after that before I decide to
pop $150/$200 for a rebuiilt starter/possible worn internal solenoid at
250,000 miles and spend the day swearing at what has been a fabulously
reliable and dependable car. I'll leave it up to the collective wisdom of the
list here on what to troubleshoot next. TIA for the help.
