Could be VISTA.B  Some CD's and DVD's do not run on vista.B  Part of the new
improved Microsoft software package.

Thanks, problem solved.
I had previously tried to copy to hard drive and open from there but that
wouldn't work.
What was confusing was that they had worked before but "went bad" on me.
Finally reinstalled Acrobat and the things worked.
I do wish I could run them from the HD, however, but they just don't want to
work that way.
