One revolution per minute
Two (plural) revolutions per minute.
The time is a defining singular factor, the rate or revolutions is (or 
should that be 'are'?) plural if it is more than one.

If you make the minutes plural you need to define the plurality to estabish 
the rate.

Thankfully the advert doesn't run across here.  And if I hadn't had a couple 
of Glenmorangies I wouldn't have replied !
