Yes it can be done, just use a piece of plywood bigger than your 
floor jack pedestal up against your oil pan and raise the engine and 
trans in unison.

P.S.   You will have to take off the engine mounts and possibly the 
exhaust manifold/pipe connection for this operation to function correctly.
