Dave, you should measure from the middle of the hub up. That way you
needn't worry about wheel and tire differences. Otherwise, even different
tire air pressures will throw you off.

Can anyone tell me the height from the ground to the bottom of the
front wheel arch on a '76 Midget with the 1500 engine, Rostyle wheels
and stock tires?
Mine seems to me to be too high in the front! It may be normal but I
don't know for sure.
