My school orders the cheapest dial "Made in China" calipers and they fall
apart every year. But with some children it would be heartbreaking to see
expensive ones damaged. I bought one of the inch/mm/fraction calipers at HF
a few years ago and I love having it in the garage for a quick measurement
of bolts & holes. I bring it to school to show the kids during labs and
oddly they haven't broken it yet........give them time.
