To check wheel bearings, jack up the LF corner and put a jack stand under
there for safety. (I lower the chassis onto the jack stand myself)
Grab the tire top and bottom, one hand on each, and try to move the wheel in
and out. There may be play, or a lot of play and clicking noise. That would
be your wheel bearings.

Subject: [Spridgets] Screeching while turning..

Good morning all,

I had a weird problem yesterday, for no good reason when I turned
right I got a terrible screeching noise from the left font wheel. And
I mean terrible! Scare the neighbors hide the children terrible.

As I am primarily a front wheel drive guy I would appreciate any
diagnostic help!

Things I have checked:

tire is not rubbing on anything

there is no backing plate for the discs to rub

there is no "wear indicator" for the discs to make noise

there is no perceptible noise moving forward or turning left.

My first thought is bearings but I have never had this failure mode so
I'm not convinced..

Thanks all,

Lester
