Hal,

I've dealt with and believe I have resolved these troublesome issues  
with the design of my kit.

However, if you are having trouble with the Zerk fitting  hitting, why  
not unscrew it and cap the hole with a rubber plug until the next time  
you need to lube the U-joint? It's not like it needs to be there all  
the time for functionality.

I have a fix that doesn't require deforming the tunnel for the  
instances when the yoke bumps the sheet metal. Contact me off list if  
your "broomstick solution" doesn't do the job for you.
