Have you had the spark plugs wires off? If so, double check they got back on
in the right order.
My 1979 starts this way; it'll try to fire and the starter kicks out. Couple
of tries more and it starts. I know my carb needs to be rebuilt. ...bill in

Ok so we are working on the car today and we have spark back. Now as we try
to
start the car it spins then it acts if something catches and stops the spin.
We are also getting some Pufft out the tail pipe. Any suggestions? Any one
close enough to come give us a hand ?
