A 629 is worth $500-600 just about anywhere, so it is hard to imagine 
someone bringing one in "to dispose of".  If this had happened with 
factory ammo bought from a store, the store and manufacturer would be 
liable for it and he could get a brand new gun plus additional $$$ 
compensation.

I saw the failure photos on another site and this is what happens when 
the round in the chamber is overpressure, and it is hard to do with 
factory ammo.  I have seen it done with remanufactured ammo when the 
wrong powder was used.  It didn't ignite the cartridges on either side 
of the chamber, if it had the bullets in those chambers could normally 
escape through the front of the cylinder.
