Hello, Spridgeteers!

What is the nominal fuel pump pressure for a '73 Midget?

Last November, my Midget began trying to stall at stops. Troubleshooting
determined that the front carb was flooding. Changing to Grose Jets and
trying two different new sets of needles/seats, a new float, and even
changing the front carb for a spare did not fix the problem. I then
suspected the fuel pump pressure was too high, but until today I did not
have a way to check the pressure, so I moved on to other projects with more
chance of success.

I installed the pump in 1988. It is an aftermarket vane pump (Blackstone
Industries, P/N EP10, made in West Germany).
I have been unable to find any information about the pump on the internet.
Could a pump have an internal failure that would suddenly raise its output
pressure?

This morning, I put a pressure gauge on the hose at the front carb and it
pegged the gauge at more than 10 psi. I think it should be closer to 4 psi
and below, but can't find a fuel pressure spec in the shop manual, either.

Thanks!
