Agreed. I think a running MG Midget with no top (mine) could bring $1000 to

If you look around you will probably find that $3000 is too much for that
car.

being a car in great shape except for the damage.
Look on ebay and craigslist to make comparisons.
MGs are famous for wiring issues but I don't think a Delco harness is
the solution to any MG problem.

Prices vary by condition of car and location but I would think you
should be able to get a very nice, running 1975 MG Midget for $3000.
