Thanks Chris.  My thoughts exactly re: the idea of replacing the lenses. 
They are ridiculously expensive for what should be cheap pieces of plastic.

worked great on the 2000 BMW wagon, BUT it stared clouding up after two 
years.  I talked to someone in the plastic industry and they said that no 
matter how well you polish it, it will never get as smooth as stock, so it 
will fog up faster.  Depending on the original coating, you also might lose 
a UV inhibitor.
That being said, I will try a kit again this spring since the car has 185k 
on it.  It will not get new ones if I can help it.
