Is the float the type that has a metal plate on top for the pivot?   If so
that can be carefully bent a little to buy that small amount of extra room for
the float to not hit the cover before shutting off incoming fuel.ChuckBe very
careful as to not stress the heated plastic that retains the plate to the top
of the float.   Also gasket material can be cut out with a paper punch for a
very thin needle seat shim...Sent from my LG Mobile------ Original

AMTo: Spridgets;Cc: Subject:[Spridgets] Carb Question I just opened the float
bowl on some new carbs and found that the plastic float almost hits the float
bowl cover before closing the needle valve.  I do not think there is enough
thread on the needle for enough washer shims to adjust the float to the proper
position.  Has anyone had to deal with this and know of a solution?ThanksBob
