If you are going to use the #7127 there is a "one wire" version commonly av=
ailable. It only requires an output wire to the battery, commonly connected=
at the starter solenoid or switch. - Chris

My notes from the archive:

GM alternator #7127 63amp or #7134 80amp

The large Brown wire is the main charging lead.
The smaller Brown wire measures the system voltage to tell the
alternator how much to charge. The Brown/Yellow wire operates the
alternator warning light, and provides the initial voltage to the
alternator to start it charging when the engine first starts,"

Does anyone have a spread of years and a car line manufacturer that is a pr=
eferred candidate for an internally regulated alternator?
Monday I am going to the local U-Pull It junk yard. There are numerous ca=
ndidates to shop there. Obviously the more compact , the better for the Mi=
dget.
I am open to suggestions as to what I should hunt for.
Thank you!!
Chuck
