My son Jim is working on a Bug Eye and is having a problem with leaking
carbs. Last fall the carbs were rebuilt by Joe Curto and in the fall
everything was fine. This spring both of the carbs are leaking at the bolt
and grommet that fastens the bowls to the base of the carb. Jim says that
the washers are domed, with the domed surface facing down. He tried
reversing the washers so that the dome went up and they were worse. He also
tried a flat washer between the bolt head and the grommet. In that
configuration the drip was the same as with the domed washers down.
I can't recall ever having an SU leak there ,,,,,my problem was usually
around the jet.
Do any of you have any suggestions????
