SVO Filter adapter

     I am interested in the Econoline/SVO oil filter adapter, but the big 
     question is:  How far is "slightly"?  
     
     Norm says the engine has to be raised or lowered "slightly" to install 
     the adapter.  Will the crossmember have to be pulled, or just the 
     radiator shroud, or what?  Has anybody found any tricks?  I'd rather 
     not get involved with even partial engine removal, at least for a few 
     more years.
