Hello,
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Shelby's LeMans win, and to
commemorate the event, Steve Earl has announced that Shelby will be the
featured marque at this summer's Monterey Historic Races. What better way to
attend the event than in your own Tiger? Unfortunately for me, I won't be
attending Monterey this year, but at least my Tiger could, with its new
owner.

1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mark I, B9472230 (yes, it is registered in Norm Miller's
TIROST), TAC #160 (yes, it is shown as having the original rivets on the TAC
certificate, which was signed by Tom Hall and Rick McLeod). Body is sound,
with tired Color code 86-Forest Green (Rootes' version of BRG), with a tired
black top and interior. Original 260 2 barrel, toploader tranny and rearend.
Odometer shows about 47,500 miles. Car was in storage for about 11 years
before being resurrected as a driver (7 years in the previous owner's garage,
4 years in my garage). Pacific Tiger Club member Larry Atkisson took the car
into his Tiger Den and rebuilt the brakes (calipers and wheel cylinders, new
pads/shoes), master cylinder, and booster, as well as the clutch master
cylinder and slave cylinder. The wiring was gone through and repaired by Jim
Leach. The radiator, water pump and fan blade assembly were replaced (the
fan is now the high flowing modified 6 blade Ford unit). The clutch was
replaced with an 10 1/2" unit, which is very streetable. Larry completely
rebuilt/remanufactured the front crossmember, and all the tech tips were
followed to reinforce the crossmember. New suspension components were then
assembled on the epoxy painted crossmember. Steering column u-joints were
replaced, as well as steering rack bellows. Brett Simpson overhauled the
distributor, and the 2 barrel was rebuilt. The exhaust was redone from the
manifolds back in 2" pipes, with turbo style mufflers. Sounds intriguing?

Only asking $13200.00 OBO [unless a bidding war breaks out ;) ] because the
car needs paint/upholstery. Price includes 1 year membership to the Pacific
Tiger Club, and miscellaneous assorted spares, new and used parts, manuals
and books. No, I won't sell any of the LAT goodies separately. Value is
there, especially considering what it would cost to add these parts to an
incomplete car, not to mention the time to find them. With cosmetic
restoration car easily worth $22000.00-$28000.00, [and a potential Lord
Rootes winner]. Selling because my two daughters need a bigger fun car to
ride in-and I want a car I can really use in more marginal weather (which is
very often in the NW!!). And no, I'm not very popular with my family and
friends for selling it...everyone tells me to keep it. I probably should.
