Either before or when you change the springs, check the spring
insulators at the top of the springs. When I rebuilt the front end on my
Tiger I didn't know about them. I think I remember cleaning some chunky
stuff, between 1/2" and 1" thick from the spring pockets. After reassembly
the front end was about 1/2" lower. It may have helped autocrossing (or not,
who knows) but I had to be more careful on the street. Next time I will use
the insulators. They probably also help prevent wear at in the spring pocket.
