I think Ford used the same starter solenoid for decades.  It changed when 
electronic ignitions came in, and they no longer needed the ballast resistor 
bypass.  I found an exact copy hanging in a blister pack, in the automotive 
section of a local department store many years back.  It doesn't say Ford on it,
but it has worked for years.  So I'll bet your local auto parts store has just 
what you need.
