Tigers,

With the discussions about tire dimensions and effects I have used the
web site I recommended
previously:

<http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi>

and entered what appear to be available in 13 inch tires. While each
manufacturer 's product may
differ a little from these numbers, they are fairly representative. I
chose the 185/70R13 as the "baseline",
as it's rolling radius seems to compare to the stock tire, as reported
by Mike Taylor's book (in mph/1000 rpm
in each gear.) The others are ordered with the next size larger in the
R70 series, which I am running with slight
modifications for clearance. The other sizes have been mentioned on the
list, but I am sure some rear end gear changes are probably used.

Here are the results:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revolutions
Difference
                         (in.) (in.) (in.)
(in.) (/mile) (%)

185/70-13 5.1 11.6 23.2
72.9 869 0.00%
195/70-13 5.4 11.9 23.7
74.6 849 2.40%
205/60-13 4.8 11.3 22.7
71.3 889 -2.20%
175/70-13 4.8 11.3 22.6
71.1 891 -2.40%
185/60-13 4.4 10.9 21.7
68.3 928 -6.30%
215/50-13 4.2 10.7 21.5
67.4 940 -7.50%

You can use the reference site easily. Just delete the examples in the
box, and type in your own choices. Remember to put the "baseline" size,
the one you want the others compared with, first. Remember, no check has
been made of whether these will fit the wheel openings, and rim width
makes a difference in effective radius, as well as fit. Offset also must
be considered. My only direct experience is with the 185/70-R13.
