        I should be the last one to respond to this, haven't had a car
with PS in, hmmmm, 22-1/2 years (you'd think my forearms would be better
developed by now). But, doesn't PS usually take something like ATF? If
so, I'd think drag racers probably use an external filter for their
slushboxes in severe applications; I know I would if I put 500+ HP
through a Powerglide. Just a thought, might be something in the Jeg's
catalog, or Summit's.
        Issues: a) reaction of fluid with filter material, wouldn't want
it to dissolve or anything. b) Viscosity of the fluid being filtered vs
the density of the filter. c) would a pressure drop (?) caused by the
filter affect speed of the PS system?

        BTW, ignore my message about the Digest, just got it, still
don't know at which end the problem lies.
