Handbrake ideas?

Finally got the handbrake installed.  Only a minor problem remains.  I'm 
missing the grommet that fits between the bracket on the differential 
and the rod going to the left wheel.  Nobody seems to have this part.  
What has anybody successfully used as a substitute?  I'm thinking of 
something like a piece of rubber fuel line.  Suggestions?
