My first computer crash without saving the message, and I’m about to hit
the ceiling, and these are cathedral ceilings...

To respond to Steve Laifman and his questions about Koni shocks, mine
are 82-1347 and 82-1348, they came from Tiger Tom, because Rick of SS
was out of them.

They are model Special D, which is just the Koni designation for Twin
Tube Hydraulic shocks, the equivalent to what you and I would have
bought from Koni in the 1960s for Tigers and other cars. As Koni says,
these are the models that made their reputation for them

As Steve guessed, they are adjustable off the car for two purposes. 1)If
you know up front that you want a stiffer setting than is the default
Koni setting and 2) if 40,000 miles down the road, you want to return
the ride to something akin to the original new default setting.

If Steve is correct in saying that his part numbers are different, it
just means that Koni assigned new numbers because they are configured
differently i.e. these are now externally adjustable without removing
them from the car.

Assuming that Steve has the original boxes for his current shocks, it
would be helpful to publish his Koni part numbers to differeniate them
from the older models that I have so that future buyers can more
correctly order shocks.

Personally, I’m very glad to have the models I have because they more
closely resemble the original Konis I got my car with. I know that
others will welcome the externally adjustable models because they like
the freedom and time saving feature of tweaking their suspension more
conveniently.
