I think the missing #50 Miles car (an ALL of his cars were raced with the
number '50', as Phil Hill's number was '2') that's being sought is the
"Flying Shingle". This was an MG based car and was practically unbeatable
in class. I got the pleasure of sitting in it at Santa Barbara Road Races.
Wish I could find that picture.
The thing was SO low that your bottom was about 2 inches from the pavement,
and your legs stuck straight forward. Ken's head and body used to stick out
like a broom stick riding a shingle. Named for how it looked.
